Garlic Prawns

Quick & Easy Garlic Prawns

When I am pushed for time, this easy garlic prawns recipe is a quick light lunch or supper. I always keep a bag of frozen prawns in my freezer as they can be defrosted quickly and used in lots of different ways. Defrosting prawns can be done overnight in the fridge, by running cold water over them or on the microwave. Personally, I defrost most things in the microwave as I tend towards sponteneity over my food despite lecturing over the benefits of meal planning. Quickly defrosting prawns by running cold water over them does make them soggy. so that’s another reason that I like to use my microwave.

Easy garlic prawns are as they are described. Use butter, garlic, salt, prawns and maybe a sprinkle of parsley if you have some kicking around. This dish takes minutes from pan to plate. Serve with crusty bread to mop up the butter and pan juices.

Ingredients

Bag of frozens prawns, defrosted

4 cloves of garlic, crushed or finely chopped

Big slice of butter

Pinch of salt

Optional – fresh chopped parsley to garnish and a wedge of lemon

Method

Heat a frying pan on the hob on a medium heat and throw in the butter and garlic. Wait until the butter is sizzling and then add the prawns. Cook through for a few minutes turning occasionally. Season with a sprinkle of salt and a grind of pepper it desired. (Did I mention they were quick & easy garlic prawns?) Plate up into a bowl with all the butter and juice. Serve with the aformentioned crusty bread and maybe a bit of salad.
